Starting point

Environmental monitoring tools often place every number on one screen without answering the useful question: what is changing, and where should I look? Signal Room starts with anomaly detection and rebuilds the hierarchy around it.

Design approach

The first layer shows status and direction. The second lets operators switch zones. Sensor detail appears only when it becomes useful. Color communicates state rather than decoration, so an unusual signal can be found within seconds.

Technical choices

The main interface is static HTML and CSS. A deliberately small script owns the live behavior. This split keeps the first view lightweight and the demo responsive on modest hardware.

Outcome

The prototype changes the inspection path from reading every value to finding an anomaly first and tracing its source. It demonstrates that a stronger information hierarchy creates more value than another chart.
